We are very excited to announce a new collaboration - a new opportunity for learning for those aspiring for innovative, powerful educational experiences for our students. As an outgrowth of the 13th Annual Progressive Education Summit, we are collaborating with some of our partners to continue learning and connecting with schools right here in Baltimore who are aspiring for child-centered, authentic, and democratic practices.

Advoc8, February 29, 2024, 11 am - 1 pm SOLD OUT EVENT CONCLUDED
Advoc8 is a research-based 8th grade capstone experience in which students take their passion for and curiosity about real-world issues and collaborate with people within and beyond the Park community to contribute actively to the change they want to see in the world. Educators are invited to learn more about Advoc8, meeting with the coordinators, who will share Advoc8's development and evolution over time. Roughly half of the visit will be spent seeing our 8th graders in action, discussing their Advoc8 topics and process.

Educating the Whole Child through Well Rounded Curriculum Experiences, March 14, 2024 4:30 - 6 PM EVENT CONCLUDED
Participants will experience unique school-based programming which supports the education of the whole child for students in PK through 8th grade. Participants will rotate through three experiences including Sound Body & Mind (yoga and mindfulness practices); Nature Explorations (sustainability & environmental education); and Immersive Media (3D printing, VR headsets, and programming using tech gear).

Environment Matters, March 19, 2024 1 - 2:30 pm EVENT CONCLUDED
You are cordially invited to observe and discuss how to use the outdoors to enhance student self-regulation, academic content acquisition and student engagement. Together, we will go outside to see two different styles of outdoor environment usage (even in cold weather) and how teachers use the environment to help students reflect and grow. Participants will observe the use of routines and procedures with transitions and how to maximize time outdoors with the opportunity to discuss how to use this type of instruction at any location.

Participants will get an overview of what to expect when observing a Children’s House (ages 3-5 multiage classroom); observe classrooms and get the chance to make meaning together as well as ask questions.
